Rat CCL24 is a chemokine containing four conserved cysteine residues, two of which are adjacent. It is expressed by activated monocytes and activated T lymphocytes. CCL24 is expressed in jejunum and spleen constitutively and is upregulated by allergen challenge and IL4 overexpression. CCL24 mainly mediates atopic disorders, parasitic infections and systemic diseases via binding to its only receptor CCR3. Human CCL24 increases the proliferation and apoptosis of DSCs, whereas on the whole it promotes the number of DSCs. CCL24 is a beneficial factor for the process of decidualization in human early pregnancy[1]. |
