protein (HDLBP), also known as vigilin, specifically 
binds HDL molecules. It plays a role in cell 
sterol metabolism and may function in the removal of 
excess cellular cholesterol (1, 2). HDLBP contains 
KH domains that function in RNA binding. It has also 
been reported to bind tRNA, facilitate its export from 
the nucleus, and control translation efficiency (3).
